How to Dress Artificial Bamboo and Maple Trees

Your artificial bamboo or maple tree will arrive in a rectangular cardboard box, consequently the foliage will take on a bit of a "square" look.  The foliage is made of a polyester/silk mix and I usually suggest taking the tree out of the box and just letting it stand at room temperature for a while for the leaves to adjust. The foliage is stuck on thin wire that is then drilled and stuck into the natural wooden stem for the maple trees and bamboo stems for the bamboo.  With both trees you want to dress the foliage virtually horizontally.   I start from the bottom of the tree and work my way ar...

How To Plant Up An Artificial Tree For Inside

I have a lovely range of well made, realistic looking artificial trees.  Each tree will arrive with a plastic pot (usually 12cm diameter by 12cm high) which contains the cement that secures the trees trunk down.  This pot then goes into your decorative planter. I would recommend a decorative planter with measurements of around 35cm/14" - 40cm/16" diameter and the same height.  This size planter will take the 150cm/5ft and 180cm/6ft.  If you are buying a 120cm/4ft tree then a 30cm/12" diameter and height will be fine. ...

How to secure a boxwood ball in a planter

How to plant a plastic boxwood ball into a window trough, round or square planter. When you get your plastic boxwood ball you will see 2 pieces of plastic sticking out, remove these and you will see either end of a tube that runs through the middle of the boxwood ball.  The gold string just needs removing – I have no idea why it is on there! This tube has a diameter of 15mm.   To secure your boxwood ball into a trough, square or round planter you will need ...

How to Secure Artificial Trees Outside

I have done a blog explaining how to plant up your chosen tree that is going outside when you do not need to move it.  A lot of businesses though put artificial trees either side of the entrance doorway but then need to bring them in at night for safe keeping.  Therefore the pot has to be heavy enough not too blow away but light enough to be able to be moved.  The method of tipping 20kg of coloured stone in as I have talked about in my previous blog would make the pot way too heavy. So the answer is ...

How to Secure Your Artificial Tree in a Pot for Outside.

There really are 2 ways that you can secure your artificial tree into a decorative pot for outside.  In this blog I am going to suggest how to secure the tree into the pot if you do not need to keep moving it.  A lot of businesses need to be able to bring the artificial trees in at night for safe keeping so the pots then need to be light enough to lift up but heavy enough not to blow over.  I will explain this method in another blog. So lets assume that you have...
